FROM MY WINDOW

In between the window grills,
is the outside world as I see.
Birds on wires beside curtain frills,
screeching without looking at me.

Beside the curry leaf tree,
that out of nowhere steadily grew.
Thus, scampering boldly and free,
feeding on crumbs that someone threw.

Raining dew drops that the leaf holds,
while picking on insects lying below.
Merrily it moves along grassy folds,
spreading its wings in sunshine mellow.
